How to calculate it by hand

Write the date as digits and add them all: 7 August 1994 becomes 0+7+0+8+1+9+9+4 = 38, then 3+8 = 11. Eleven stays as it is, because tradition counts 11 and 22 as master numbers. Any other two-digit total is reduced again: 38 → 11, 29 → 11, 25 → 7.

Some schools reduce the day, month and year separately before adding them. The result is almost always the same; where it differs, the version above is the more common one.

A number is not a verdict. A life path describes a tendency, not a limit. People with the same number live completely different lives, and nothing in the chart forbids or guarantees anything.
